Jean Baptiste Charbonneau, better known as “Pomp,” spent his first eighteen months traveling 3,000 miles with the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Some of their journals record Pomp’s birth, but none mention his first birthday. Jim Sargent decided it was time to make up for that omission and embarked on a campaign to get 200 parties for the 200th anniversary of Pomp’s birth. This book records the huge success: Over 15,000 people, over 400 parties; all 50 states, six Canadian provinces, eleven other countries, four continents, and four cruise ships. The parties were terrific, creative, educational and fun! One dollar from each book sold will be donated to the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation, Inc.
