This 5½” Bundle of Joy is meticulously hand-crafted following the practices of the glassblowers of the 1800's. Molten glass is mouth-blown in finely crafted molds and then a solution of liquid hot silver is poured inside. From there, each ornament is painted and glittered by hand. Beth and Tim Merck founded Old World Christmas in Spokane, Washington out of their love for European Christmas traditions. The story of the stork comes from a popular belief from Victorian times that storks were harbingers of happiness and prosperity, and from the habit of some storks of nesting atop chimneys, down which the new baby would enter the house.
