Old World Christmas has been making gorgeous glass ornaments like this one since 1974. They are experts in the process, which follows a process that was invented in 1874 in Germany. They take glass tubes and use high-heat torches to shape each ornament into its desired design. Then, the glass is filled with a liquid silver solution to give them a shiny, mirrored effect. From there, the glass is gradually cooled so as to deter the glass from breaking too easily. The final step of the process is meticulous hand-painting.
