The Howling Wolf is one of the Glass Ornaments found in our collection of Merck Family's Old World Christmas ornaments. This Spokane, Washington company was founded by Tim and Beth Merck, a couple who shared a love for European Christmas traditions. Following 19th-century practices, molten glass is mouth-blown into carved molds before a hot solution of liquid silver is poured inside. Then the ornaments are hand-painted and glittered in a series of labor-intensive steps.
