Handcrafted from stoneware, each one of these mugs is custom-made, which means no one else will ever have the exact same mug that you do! From the refinement of the clay to the final glaze and firing of each piece, it all happens in their little studio just outside of Bozeman, Montana. All of the clay they use is 100% lead-free. Every piece of this Montana pottery goes through two firings, and the result is a vibrant piece of art! 

Mountain Art Pottery was established in Bozeman in the 1970s by David and Jennie Lockie. By chance, Jennie gifted Dave some pottery lessons at a local studio, and he was pretty darn good at it! By 1980, they had converted an old chicken coup into a backyard studio, and soon they were a hit with locals and travelers alike, even crafting pieces for Yellowstone National Park. Today, the business is still in the family, run now by David and Jennie's son Josh and his wife Kathy, including the much-loved local bakery and coffee shop, The Coffee Pot.
