Based here in Montana, Waterhorse Bronze is the work of Bozeman artist Elaine Hansard, a self-taught sculptor inspired by the landscapes and wildlife that surround her. Each piece begins by hand in clay or wax, where she carefully shapes every detail before sending it through the time-honored lost-wax casting process, a technique dating back over 5,000 years. From there, it's transformed from the original sculpture into solid bronze, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike.
