Yeehaw! Saddle up the little ones to learn all about a day at a Montana rodeo with the story of Denni-Jo and Pinto at the Rodeo by Buck Buchanan. This beloved character from Buchanan's first book makes her return and takes us through what it takes to be a tough-ridin' cowgirl at a big-time rodeo! Together with her trusty pony Pinto, they will show readers what it's like to truly compete in the fast-paced world of rodeo, the hard work and determination it takes, and the sweet reward of completing something you put a lot of time and energy into. That's the Montana way and the rodeo way! This is a fantastic children's book that introduces kiddos to a Western way of life.
Buck Buchanan is a well-known singer-songwriter based in Southwest Montana. He cut his chops on his family's ranch in Idaho before moving to West Yellowstone in the 1970s. That's also when he started the band Twang, a loved local group performing good ol' country music still today. Eventually moving to the Bozeman area, he taught middle school science for 22 years. From writing songs to writing stories, his ability to craft a tale is truly unique and something to enjoy with your kids in this book. For your baby buckaroos, give them a taste of Wild West fun with Denni-Jo and Pinto at the Rodeo!
