Each piece that comes from EarthWood is carved by the Giacaman Family, who have dedicated their lives to the master craft of woodworking. They manage the largest olive wood factory in Israel, where they meticulously shape and carve these beautiful nativity ornaments. Each piece of olive wood is dried for a year or more before it is used for carving. Because of this, the intricacies and uniqueness of the woods, the grains, the cracks, etc., are actually built into the carvings so that no two pieces are ever the same.
