Vesta, the second largest object in the asteroid belt that surrounds our solar system, lying beyond Pluto. Vesta's orbit was originally calculated in 1807 by German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss. Named after the Roman goddess of the hearth and home, Vesta makes up about 9 percent of the total mass in the asteroid belt, and very nearly qualifies as a dwarf planet.

MOVA globes are powered by natural light, using solar technology to slowly and silently rotate. This works with either natural light or ambient indoor light no batteries and wires are required. Comes securely packaged in secure Styrofoam packaging. The acrylic base is sturdy and clear, so it won't distract from the globe's beauty. Some assembly of the base required.
